A toast to the new Adams'!

About a month ago, David and I received the invitation to my friend Tammy Barfield's wedding in Augusta. Brince and Becca wanted to attend the wedding too, so we decided to make a weekend of the celebration. On Friday night, we met up at Lake Sinclair for a little downtime. Becca was the only one "iced", but I had to capture her holding the lake sign. On Saturday, we packed a lunch for the road and headed to Augusta. Our friends Summer Sterling and Phil met us at the hotel to join us for the wedding festivities. The church where Tammy and Sam were married was wonderfully charming, and she looked magnificent as a bride. Tammy and I have been friends all through middle-school, high-school, college, and after....so it was a pleasure to attend her nuptials after she and Sam so graciously attended my and David's wedding. The location for the reception was from a magazine, truly. Her food was delicious, the cakes divine, and her band was a blast. Congratulations to the new Mr. and Mrs. Sam Adams! And thank you for including us in your special day!
Handsome men...beautiful view...pretty sweet houses in the background!
The River House at the River Club was the most beautiful location for Tammy and Sam's reception!
Tammy was one of the loveliest brides that I have ever seen!
After the reception, we headed to the Partridge Inn for the after party...
And then scooted back to our hotel for some late-night snacks!
Its usually a free-for-all as far as dinner goes on Sunday nights, and we normally resort to ordering our "Usual" pizza. However, tonight I used my talents for pulling together a meal and wanted to post it in case you all want to try it too! We had sauteed shrimp lettuce wraps with tomato, avocado and red onion relish. A medley of zucchini, green peppers, and roasted corn topped with the tomato relish was wonderful with the shrimp!

Zippin'

On Friday night, Brince, Becca and little Jim Roper, the Shorki, came to visit David and I. We were so happy to see them! Becca and I went for a walk and pedis on Saturday while the boys tried to keep the Dawgs on track. Instead of drowning in tears over UGA's defeat, we hit the lake until my parents and Asa got here. They were able to come up on Saturday afternoon, and we had a booze cruise and late dinner last night. After a slow moving Sunday morning with lots of coffee and a delicious breakfast, us gals hit the trails for another walk at the country club. Post-walk, we had the nicest lunch on the boat again before heading to Lula for the North Georgia Canopy Tour. David brought me a magazine article a few weeks ago that featured the fun activity, and so I thought it would be fun to sign the family up while they were in town for a visit. We were tickled that Amanda wanted to join us too! My mom said she'd watch Ben while we soared through the trees. They hit up Jaemor Farms to visit the animals. She loved keeping him, and we had a ball on the zip line! Its only about 8 minutes from our house - so any of you that want to do it too, come visit us!

Just sketchy...

I may be a bit partial, but Milledge Avenue in Athens is one of the prettiest streets ever, and its because of the historic mansions lining the streets that comprise the Greek life at UGA. Heery's Too didn't have many options associated with sorority life at the University of Georgia. I have a beautiful drawing of the ADPi house that my mother-in-law gave me, and thought that it would make a lovely gift for others as well. I did simple sketches of a few of the sorority houses, framed them, and have them on sale at Heery's Too. Just wanted you all to see what I did on
Tuesday...
