eventful.

David and I were so excited about having his parents, sister, and our nephew here to visit for the weekend!

They weren't arriving until Friday evening, so first...

...on Thursday afternoon, we had the best time picking zinnias from this gorgeous field!
I had picked some the week before too, and loved having them all over!
It made me so happy having baskets full to take home and scatter around our house!

While we were leaving my zinnia friend's house, there were tons of deer bidding us adieu!

Don't they look majestic?

I loved these! Two mommies with their babies!

Later, on Friday night, I had this sous chef while cooking! He was mainly interested in the boiled peanuts. :)

He even had boiled peanuts for breakfast, along with Pammy's pound cake!

Our Saturday began with a picnic lunch on the boat. We found a nice beach to park on, laid out our food, and were enjoying a nice day on the water.
Then, we heard a yelp from Baxter.

Conclusion:
The poor guy broke his elbow. He was a little too brave and jumped off an 8' cliff. So. sad.

After a few hours at the emergency vet's office, Bax has a bright yellow cast. We all spent the afternoon and night waiting on the little patient.

Bax was feeling much better and finally learning to hobble a bit on Sunday.
So, it was time for a morning project.
We've been loving the TV in our kitchen. I've not been loving the wires and cords that come with hanging a TV on the wall. So, call in the professionals - David and Pop.

And ta-da!
They not only wired the TV into the wall, but we got a nice new outlet underneath too!
They're the best!!

On another note, this cute fella started his senior year!
*tear!*
I can't believe it!
Here's Asa on his first day of school!

Laid back weekend

On Friday, I got to bring home all these gorgeous goodies! I have a client/friend who has a beautiful garden just popping at the seams with zinnias. She sweetly let me cut all that I wanted, so I came home with two baskets full of pinks, purples, corals, yellows, and oranges. I had the best time tucking these little lovelies around our house!

Later that afternoon, David and I scooted into Atlanta to meet up with some friends for the Braves game!
We joined Brince and Laura Lyn along with Courtney and Bethany. We had a pretty sweet view from the Chophouse before heading to our seats! We were just happy there was no rain!

Thankfully, the Braves won in the 11th inning...yesh....long game.

Saturday was spent doing housework and running errands together. And then, on Sunday, we had David's Aunt Caron, Uncle Steve, and cousins James, Sallie, Kathryn and Justin over for a late lunch and boating afternoon.
Fun, flower-filled weekend!

Catch up

This girl has been busy. Having a lot of fun too!
Wanted to share what we've been up to for the past few weeks...
Two weeks ago, David and I made an impromptu trip to the beach, and the weekend was spent in the sunshine and eating good seafood.

On Saturday, my Mom and Abbye came too. We spent the day with our toes in the sand before heading to Old Florida Fishouse for some dinner and dancing.

This past weekend, we were in Hawkinsville. We got to hang out with the fam, and test out Pop's new gun before the party at my parent's river house for our childhood friend Trent and his new wife, Cheri.

Some of Abbye's friends have a band...they came to play and were so good! We had a ball!

A few of the hostesses....

It rained a bit, but being under the cabin roof with all those lanterns was so pretty! Our friends Grant and Erin brought their baby Ellis - I had so much fun playing with him! Isn't he the cutest!!!

It was such a fun night!

I will post a few detail shots of the party over on my design blog...be sure and check them out!

Since Sunday night, I have been in Highlands helping my friend James with the Cashier's Designer Showhouse...the opening night party is Friday and the house opens on Saturday. Finishing touches were today, and this girl is home for a few days! :)
