Thomas Henry Griffin

Last Monday, on May 20th, David and I welcomed our little one into the world!
Thomas Henry Griffin was born at 6:56am, weighing a perfect 7 lbs 9 oz, and was 20" long.
We are crazy in love with Henry and feel so blessed with the gift of him!
He is named for his two grandfathers - Thomas Randolph Coody and Ben Henry Griffin.
Along with David and I, all of the grandparents, aunts, and uncles were so happy to meet him upon his arrival!

We are so happy to have him home!

Condo for Sale

Hi blogger friends!
Thought I'd share with you all the condo we have for sale in Athens, GA.

Want an investment property?
Have a child starting school in Athens?
Enjoy cheering on the Dawgs during the Fall?

I lived here in college and we rented it for some time afterward - now, it's time to pass this fun place on to someone else. I absolutely loved every minute of living here! It's super safe, and has tons of room - especially closets! It's super easy to walk to/from Downtown Athens, to/from campus especially Sanford Stadium, with a primo location between Baxter and Milledge (Hwy 15).

The complex is Deering Oaks Condominiums. There's a fantastic Home Owner's Association that looks after everything along with weekly trash and recycling. My unit has the largest patio in the complex - perfect for a grill, table and chairs. We've got more parking too...awesome for company!

We recently renovated the space too...we updated from my bright college colors and made the baths and kitchen a bit more sophisticated. Please do pass this post along to anyone you think may be interested! And contact me with any additional questions:

Here are a few before shots pre-renovation:

DURING:
The entire condo received a paint job - Benjamin Moore's Coastal Fog now graces the walls; the closets, trim and doors are all Decorator's White.

And now, the AFTER:

The entrance hallway received updated lighting fixtures along with the paint job. The flooring in the hallway and kitchen is parquet - so pretty! And there are two storage closets as well. The rest of the unit features a low pile Berber that's perfect for high traffic.

The front door opens into a small foyer or vestibule.

The breakfast area or keeping room has a chandelier and bay window.

The small door on the right is a standing pantry - really, there is so much storage space here!

In the kitchen, the subway tile back splash was recently installed. The cabinets are solid wood and the appliances are all updated.

The living room:
The fireplace runs off gas and there are cable outlets on two walls. The French Doors open to the spacious patio and back grounds.

The hallway between the bedrooms features a storage closet, a linen closet, the laundry room, and the entrance to the guest bath.

The guest bath now has recessed lighting, raised cabinetry now painted white, white cultured marble counter tops and new hardware.

The laundry room has an updated washer/dryer and a new light fixture.

The guest room features two spacious closets. During my last years living here, I had two double beds in this room - it's got plenty of room for a roommate or your weekend company!

The master bedroom has an updated light fixture and plenty of natural light. It's very private too with window access to the rear grounds of the complex.

There are two large walk in closets too! I still miss these! :)

The master bath has both a standing tiled-in shower and a garden tub.

The counter tops are now white cultured marble, the cabinetry has been raised, and all has been painted white.

New recessed lighting in the bathroom

The back patio connects to a common space between all units which also serves as a fire escape. The nice landscaping and pretty plants are all maintained by the HOA.

The patio is double the size of the ones at other units so there's plenty of room for your outdoor entertaining!

It's a great, safe, convenient place to live or rent, or to enjoy on the weekends. Please do let me know if you'd like more information on this amazing property!

Mother's Day Weekend

In anticipation of Baby G's arrival, my mom was here for a few days. We had the best time playing, but the bambino is still a no show. Alas, she left yesterday afternoon so maybe he'll decide to make his appearance now - today is my due date, so we'll see!

My parents and I met at the Atlanta Symphony Decorator's Showhouse last Thursday to see James speak and to tour the house - fun day! We got to see Jill and her mom Fran, and Hollie and Kaci too!
On Friday, Mom and I spent the day in Athens, and on Saturday toured Gibbs Gardens in Ball Ground, Georgia. It was just gorgeous! But all that walking still didn't get Baby G up and moving!
Sunday was spent with family, and it was so nice! David and I were able to host everyone, and it was the loveliest day celebrating our mothers!
I sure am blessed to have the one God gave me!
And the mother in law I've been blessed with too!

Here's a little bit of our day at Gibbs Gardens:

We had so much to celebrate yesterday! Asa is graduating on Friday, but we won't be able to be there - so a chocolate Cecilia cake was just the ticket! We also had a strawberry cake to celebrate the Mothers!

Abbye surprised me by coming in on Saturday night! I was so so so excited! We were in the movies watching The Great Gatsby (ah-mazing BTW) and she walked in! I was too pumped!

So lucky to have everyone here yesterday!

We had the nicest time hanging out - I was sad to see everyone go!
Glad Gongaman could be here too!

Here we are - 40 weeks! Come on Baby G!
