Has it been 10 years?

Over the weekend, I attended my 10 year high school reunion!
I graduated from The Westfield Schools in Perry, GA in May of 2002. I really can't believe that it's been a decade since we graduated!
I am lucky that I still have so many awesome high school friends. We do a good job of keeping in touch, but there were many who I haven't seen in a while and was looking forward to catching up with!

Westfield makes a big deal out of alumni weekend!
Here's the flier that went out a few weeks ago!

Friday night was the alumni BBQ and football game.
Here's two of my high school BFFs - Amy and Christen.
Love these two!

And here's my brother Brince and sister Abbye - both WHS alums too. Next year, Asa will join us under the alumni tent! But on that night, he was playing football. It was his first night back since getting the concussion, and he played really well, even scoring a touch down in the beginning of the game!

Our cousin Claire is also a senior, and was representing the football team as Football Sponsor on the homecoming court. Here's my Dad, me, and sister Abbye with her.
My Mom couldn't be at the game, but Abbye and I were reppin' the mom pins with Asa's pic on them! :)

That's Asa, #4 in the game!

And here's Asa after the game with my Dad...we won 38-0!

And here's the whole crew!

After the game, most of us headed to Christen's parent's house to watch our old home videos from high school! So funny!!!!!
This is the Paperless Post I sent out as the invite - that's my whole senior class in the picture - all 33 of us!

On Saturday morning, Amy and I hosted a brunch for the moms and daughters of our class. A few weeks ago, when she was visiting me, we got some things done for the reunion decor - including spray painting a bunch of frames in our school colors (green, gold, and white) to display old pictures.

In the meantime, I had also been stock piling green and gold paper goods to use for the weekend.

We made some paper pin wheels and a bunch of pom poms too!

I used Paperless Post to send out all of the invitations - they're super cute and it saved maja bucks!

Here are detail shots from our mother's brunch at Amy's.

These are some of the cute girls from my senior class.

Later on Saturday night was our cabin party.
Amy and I made these fun info fliers to hang around....they had our senior pictures and current pictures too! It's so fun to see how people have/have not changed!

This is the fun invite to the cabin party.

My awesome mom helped me decorate - how cute is this?!?!

The UGA game was a highlight of the night!

I set up the dinner tables banquet style and we had the lanterns hanging above.
It was lovely with the candles lit!

Here are a few snaps from the cabin party!

Family Fun

David and I were home for my little bro's football game this past weekend. So, on Friday night, we headed to the football game at Westfield.

But, Asa had a concussion earlier in the season and was sitting this game out.
That's him, #4, heading to the sidelines.

And here he is on the cover of the football program...

and his senior add. So fun to see him grow up!
It's hard to believe this is his last year at WHS!

Although Asa wasn't able to play, we enjoyed the game and were glad the Hornets won!

It was a fun night all being together!

Here's my mom's homage to her last senior! :)

On Saturday, the fam set out for Savannah! We were heading East to celebrate my parent's 30th wedding anniversary. After checking into the hotel along the river, we watched the boats pass by.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Vic's on the River!

And then headed to Elton John!!!! He put on an amazing show!!!!!!!
He played everything....Bennie and the Jets, Rocket Man, Levon, Tiny Dancer, That's Why they call it the Blues, Crocodile Rock, Bitch is Back, Candle in the Wind, Sad Song, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Daniel, and more!
We loved being together to celebrate our awesome parents and the example they have set for us! It was a great weekend with family.

And he even signed autographs for the upfront fans before his encore of Your Song.

Congrats to my parents!

Viva la Mexico

Last week, David and I joined our great friends Colby and Jamie for a spontaneous trip to Mexico!
On Sunday morning, we flew from Atlanta to Cancun, and then took a short ride to the Iberostar Grand Paraiso in Playa del Carmen. It's an all-inclusive, adults only resort - and part of a larger Iberostar hotel group.
We had a blissful week filled with sunshine, great friends, and plenty of cervezas.
Here are a few things we did on our super fun trip:

We were happy to arrive in Cancun!

We totally took the driver up on Coronas...

And then checked into the hotel while standing in this gorgeous lobby...

we strolled around the conservatory...

took in the amazing hotel...

and loved that this was our walk to breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day.

We had a ball eating lunch here overlooking the beautiful blue water...

loved laying under our own huts...

and then enjoying the pool and the swim up bar in the afternoons.

At night, we got ready for dinner in one of the 4 restaurants, and afterward made a stop at the lobby bar...

and even took pictures in the gondola after the Italian dinner.

The mornings were spent poolside before eating lunch and napping on the beach...

and then it was time for dinner again, this time at the dinner buffet...

and the lobby bar afterward to see our favorite bartender, Perfecto. And perfecto he was.

Colby and I enjoyed the spa while the boys golfed...

and we admired the gorgeous courtyard...

as well as the other pretty buildings on the property...

all before enjoying a Modelo on the beach again...

and later, the specialty drinks at the pool bar.

We were intrigued by the Mexican "raccoons"...

and loved the hibachi dinner at the Japanese restaurant.

I watched Colby pose with the local iguana....

and later, watched the boys play volleyball...

and could not miss a sunset at the pool...

before our surf and turf dinner at Tony's....

and dancing at the pool party.

Before going home, I snapped pics of our awesome porch...

and our fun room.

At the airport, we were mezmerized by the duty free shop...

and tickled by the Bubba Gump restaurant in Mexico.

We had an awesome time and HIGHLY recommend the resort!
