Yard Sale and Ride around the Farm

Our first day of the yardsale! Yikes! It was early!

And the car was packed full!!!

Between my mom and me, my Aunt Dinah, our friends Patti and Suzanne, my MIL Pammy, and Aunt Vicky, we had a TON of fabulous stuff to sell. Friday was a big day....we only had a little bit to pull back out on Saturday morning.

Tons of lamps!

And enough bedding and pillows to outfit a few houses!

My Dad's office parking lot is the perfect place to set up...it was awesome to have access to his kitchen for coffee and his ladies' room! :)

David and I bought this sofa from his Aunt Vicky....we are going to recover it for our new house! David was in and out while we women tended to the sale. I love being from a small town, and was able to see a lot of friendly faces that I grew up with over the weekend.
On Saturday, Meredith came through on her way from SSI...I was so happy to see my friend!!! And wished I could've visited more...but she was on the hunt for treasures too!

Friday was a bit overcast, but Saturday of the yardsale was sunnier...check out this sunburn I got where my sleeve ended!
On Sunday afternoon after church and lunch, my Dad took David and I along with my Mom and cousin Gracie for a drive around the farm. This farm has grown over many generations, and it's gorgeous to see what's being planted and grown on Coody land. My Dad has done an amazing job of maintaining it and making room for more crops to be planted, and roads to be made.
Here's a wheat field. Other fields will have corn, cotton, or peanuts. While my dad loves farming more than anything, other farmers lease and tend the land.

Mr. Coyote was hunting in this field. He's the black speck to the left of the tree line.

This huge oak tree is generations old...its got a hollow core where animals burrow in the winter.

And my adorable parents

These fields will have Hardy Farms peanuts planted in them

While riding around, we stopped at one of the old Coody cemetaries tucked under a few trees on the edges of one of the fields. I hope you don't find this morbid! I just thought the headstones were charming, and the dates on them fascinating!
I think this would be my great-great-great grandfather....

S.B. Coody had 3 wives, and outlived all 3 of them. The first two died in childbirth.

This gorgeous azalea grows at the current Coody cemetary.

And these cows graze close by too.

Hope you enjoyed this little mini-tour!

Week Two of the March Photo a Day Challenge

So far, I am hanging in there with the Photo A Day Challenge...I have to remind myself, but its been fun. Here's Week Two:
Makes Me Smile: Our princess kitty Sandy loves to sleep at the foot of our bed during the day!

5pm: I had been working all day pulling things together for the Peaches To Beaches Yardsale!

What I Wore: My work clothes!

Window: The view of our backyard....looks like Spring is on its way and the water is coming back into the lake!

Blue: My cousin Gracie's t-shirt was the prettiest shade of blue. She and I are standing in one of the fields at the farm.

Shoes: It's such a long story, but somehow my cowboy boots were taken in November, and these beauts made their way back to me last week!

From a Distance: In the background, theres's a small speck on the right, before the tree line begins....thats a coyote hunting in the field.

A Housewarming Party

Over the weekend, David and I surprised our friends at Clayton, Chris, and Nick's housewarming party at their new rental in Macon! We had Mexican with Brince and Laura Lyn before heading to the party. When LL and I walked in the back door, this amazing cardboard surfer cutout was in the breakfast area. The new renters found it in the attic....their discovery made LL and I pumped for picture time! We were so excited to surprise our friends and had the best time. And I wanted to share these silly moments from the night!
Laura Lyn and Me....We were cracking up!
We could've done this all night!

David and Kyle had fun too...

And Adam and Abby looked like the real deal!

Even Zach and his girlfriend took a turn!

And "Baby" Hurley got a hug from Clayton. Aren't they cute?
Thanks for such a fun party Nick, Chris, and Clayton!

Photo Challenge: Week One

I am trying to participate in the Photo-a-Day challenge for the month of March. Here's the first four days!
Day One: Self Portrait. I grabbed my hubs to be in this one with me. Clearly he's in much sharper clothes that his tired wife! :)
Day Two: Our Fruit Bowl. David is really great about eating fruit with his breakfast, so there's always fruit on the counter. He puts bananas on his cereal in the mornings. As for me, I am more of a veggie gal!

Day Three: My bag. I have a pretty big, slouchy purse that holds all of my junk. I did a post about that here.

But here's the contents once again. Everything from sunglasses, my wallet, cosmetics, my favorite gum, a camera and battery (since I take pictures of everything!), my trusty tape measure, my jump drive, to my fave Bobbi Brown lip palette.

Day Four: My bedside. No, this is not my bedside, but the one in my brother's guest room. I happened to be spending the night with him on Day Four of this challenge, so here it is!
**Stay tuned for more of the March Photo Challenge...I am trying to be as diligent as Meredith! :)

I've been slack

I've been slack on posting what all David and I have had going on lately. My apologies.

After my last post on a weekend with the girls, David and I celebrated Valentine's Day with a quiet night at home and a delicious meal.
Our Valentine's Day meal - shrimp, filet, green beans, and mozzarella with strawberries on crostini!

My gorgeous Valentine's Day flowers from my Valentine!

The weekend after Valentine's Day found David and I in Hawkinsville to spend some time with family and friends. We enjoyed dinner with his parents on Friday night, and mine on Saturday night. And on Sunday, we had lunch with both sets of parents - lucky kiddos we are! I had a few appointments with clients that weekend, and we came back to Gainesville on Sunday afternoon.

Last week, we were both busy with our jobs - me with clients and David with his new responsibilities at work.
On Thursday, David and I joined our friends The Hughs and The Fowlers at the country club for the Young Man and Young Woman of Hall County Awards. There were lots of people there and David and I loved being with our friends at the JayCee's function.
We had someone snap a pic before we left.

The Chattahoochee Country Club here in Gainesville is such a pretty place!

The night was even more fun since our friend Callie Hughs' boss was surprised by winning the Young Man of the Year Award! So fun!
On Friday, I met my family in Milledgeville to see my brother's girlfriend, Sydney, play basketball in the Final Four.
The WHS student section was fired up! And the Lady Hornets won their game against Stratford, sending us to the State Championship the next night!
I was so excited to spend the night with Amy on Friday night after the WHS game, and to get up to help with our friend Jesse's baby shower on Saturday morning. Jesse and I were both Furnishings and Interiors majors at UGA, and she just happened to marry a Vienna boy and they live in Perry!
The hosts with the mommy-to-be!
L-R: Heather, Robin (she had the party at her home), Soon-To-Be Mommy Jesse, Amy, and Becca.
They did such a great job on the sweet shower!
Later on Saturday, it was back in the car to head to Milledgeville one more time to cheer on the girls in the GISA State Championship!

The student section was excited again, but sadly, the girls lost. Sydney played so hard, and so did the other girls! We were proud of them!
This weekend, David and I are staying put! Yay!!!!!
