Birthday Sneak Peek

My and David's vacation was capped off with a surprise birthday party for my Mom's 50th! We shooed her out the door on Friday morning and got to work - she had no idea what we were doing!
A few years ago when we were planning my wedding, our caterer and friend, Leon Holloway, told us about a dinner party where he re-created the final meal served to the first class passengers on the Titanic. He had the reproduction china for us to see, and told us about all these gorgeous food courses, flower arrangements, music - it really got our wheels turning. So, I slipped the idea into my mental file folder, and decided to do that for my mom's 50th birthday. With much help from my Dad, we planned a fun night where she would be surprised and surrounded by all of her best friends. I will have lots of photos of the party when the photographer sends them to me, but wanted to share a sneak peek at the night's festivities!

Me and my date! I am a lucky girl!

My other date for the evening...I really thought Brince looked sharp in his top-hat!

Amanda looked great...can't wait for yall to see her in her hat for the night.
But before all of the fun began,  here's how the whole thing came about....
After Mom left, we cleared out all the furniture from the living room to make way for her birthday present - a new piano - and the long banquet style tables for the dinner.

Oooo, its coming along!

We later had lanterns hanging from these...it was lovely at night as the guests were arriving!

Its all ready! All we need is the birthday girl!

I met her in the driveway with an invitation to her own party! Boy, was she surprised!

I was so happy to finally get to this point...I had been planning this for so long!!!!

She was so excited to get her present!

And she got to check everything out before the guests began to arrive.

I even had her clothes ready for her!

The Birthday girl, and the Captain for the night!

My cousin Benjy, brobro Brince, and me - can you tell we're excited!

Griffin Beach Week

On Monday afternoon, David and I drove to Mexico Beach to spend the next couple of days with his dad's side of the family. We love being there with them, and always have fun spending time with the kids and playing games with the cousins. Our time was spent scalloping, beachin', eating delicious food, and hanging with family. On Thursday, we left MB at lunch time to head to Hawkinsville to get ready for the weekend festivities. Here's a few highlights from Mexico Beach!
On Tuesday in MB, David and I along with the kiddos and cousins went scalloping in St. Joe Bay. Once we found our spot, we had lots of luck!

Even Ben and Rodney found a few scallops!

Adorable little Lizzy found a starfish! She was so proud!

And the little boys found sand dollars!

Are they not the 3 cutest kids you've ever seen?

Me and my cutie pie! He and I both had great luck!

Mish was kind enough to be our captain again!

And Amanda and Christie were so gracious to shuck all those scallops we found!

I couldn't resist snapping a pic of this little angel!

This is the Fuller-Mundy-Tharpe crew!

On our last day, David and I spent the whole day on the beach. We even weathered a few rain showers under the tent. The kiddos ran around playing tag...we just watched! ha!

Our awesome digs for a few days!

And when Lizzy needed to re-fuel, a Capri Sun it was.
