Sorry guys, I am maja behind on blogging!
October flew by, November hit, and here we are December 2nd.
Yikes. 23 days to Christmas.
Anywho, I wanted to share our super fun weekend in October, celebrating my baby brother Asa's big 21st birthday! We headed to Vegas to ring in the big occasion, and had. a. ball!
You may remember our trip three years ago for Abbye's 21st too. :)
Obviously, I love traveling with my sibs. And our additions of Clayton, Stacey, and Anna are like family too. Everyone was down to have fun, go&see&do, and we laughed the entire time.
The trip for Abbye and Stacey's 21st's was 3 years ago, one move ago, one pregnancy ago and one 18month old ago for this mama. David and I did our best to keep up with the young uns' and I think we did a pretty good job of it.
On a Thursday evening in late October, we headed to Hartsfield to catch our flight. There were 9 of us total, but here's the 6 Coodys getting ready to head out.
We were so pumped!
I love this concourse pic!
After checking in super late (what time really was it?!! 1am? 3am?!?) I headed to bed to gear up for the weekend. We stayed at the Luxor, which is connected to Mandalay Bay.
It's a pretty nice hotel, perfect for us...coming and going the whole time...and we have a buddy who works there.
We were all super excited to begin our trek around the town early on Friday morning. It was Asa's first time visiting Las Vegas, but also our friend Anna's and Laura Lyn's too.
I couldn't wait to show them everything!
After a hilarious taco lunch at Mandalay Bay, we hopped the tram to the big Tropicana/Excalibur intersection. I love visiting this overpass bridge....it was a gorgeous day, we were all so jazzed to be there, and had to capture the moment.
6 Coody kiddos again
Our whole {uber-fun} group:
Anna, Laura Lyn, Brince, Asa, David, Me, Clayton, and Stacey - Abs took the pic :)
Our group was awesome! I had most of the trip already planned for us when we got there, and for the times when we had down time, everyone was so game to all stay together and just keep having fun.
Asa loved it, and so did I.
There's a really neat new section of Las Vegas called The Linqs. Its a fun outdoor shopping/eating area that really doesn't feel like you're in Vegas. Nice, fresh air and not too crowded.
We hit up The LINQ at Cesars Palace, and were dying to ride the big new ferris wheel!
"Do you guys want to ride in the pod with the bartender?" they asked.
As if we'd say no! ha!
Las Vegas has recently added a huge ferris wheel called the High Roller.
The High Roller Vegas is amazing!
If any of you guys follow me/us on Instagram, there were quite a few posts from this excursion!
The views are nuts!
It takes about 30 minutes to make the full round, and it moves quite slow. This was the most fun 30 minutes ever!
You can see the surrounding mountains, and picture Vegas literally in a "bowl" in the desert.
Beautiful blue skies, amazing family and friends....we were happy!
After the High Roller, we headed to the Venetian....one of the most incredible hotels in Vegas.
I wanted Asa to see as much as he possibly could while we were there, and I think he had a great experience.
After a bit more casino-hopping, it was time to get ready for the real fun - our night time plans. ;)
We all got dolled up, and before dinner, we made a pit stop at the gorgeous Bellagio fountains.
Its really an experience like no other.
Its just beautiful and I am glad we were all able to see it.
Dinner was at the nearby Cosmopolitan hotel - the most chic, lively resort. I want to stay there next time we go!
We had the best dinner at STK in the Cosmopolitan - it was like a nightclub restaurant. Great DJ while we dined, lots of bachelor and bachelorette parties, and fun waiters.
Later that night, we had so much fun at 1 Oak in the Mirage Hotel and Casino. I booked us a table a few weeks in advance, and we were so excited when Brody Jenner was announced as the guest DJ.
Saturday was spent relaxing in our cabana by the pool back at the Luxor. Some friends of mine were also in town for the weekend, and we were happy to have Julie and Reid join us for some sunshine.
After resting up for another night, us girls got all dressed up for our dinner at the Foundation Room at Mandalay Bay.
The restaurant is super chic and on the 62nd floor - the view of the Las Vegas Strip at night was incomparable!
As a part of our "girly" night, we booked tickets to see Britney Spears at Planet Hollywood. Talk about FUN!
We sang along to every song, loved seeing all of her theatrics, and what outfit she would come to the stage in next.
The boys hit up The Wynn while we danced to Brit, and later met back up with us at Mandalay Bay's Foundation Room for some chill time and to see the views we were so excited to show them.
The Foundation Room completely transformed while we were at the concert, and it was so fun to have the Spiveys come back to play again!
On Sunday our flight was scheduled for 11AM, but we spent 10 hours in the Las Vegas airport which was a total bummer until Clayton won $$$$ about 5 minutes before we got on our plane at 8PM.
A million laughs, a few hundred stories, 9 neck pillows, 3 meals, and about 10 magazines later, we were on our way back to Atlanta.
Thank goodness.
Vegas was amazing, and we couldn't have had a more fun group to play with all weekend while celebrating Asa's milestone birthday. Now, we're all left wondering,
"Who's turning 21 next?"
