Henry's baptism

A few weeks ago was a special Sunday - we baptized Henry in our hometown church. It's pretty amazing that both sets of our paternal grandparents were members of this church, our dads were baptized here, aunts, uncles too; so many family members were married here, as were David and I in April of 2009. The new pastor Dr. Nita Crump did a beautiful job, and our Henry was fast asleep until she took him to walk down the center aisle. It was a special day with so many of our family members present to see the ceremony. 

We were overwhelmed with the love in having so many family members there to see our baby boy's baptism.

It meant so much to have my best friend Amy and her husband Chris there to celebrate with us!

Henry went a little casual for the lunch. :)

My mother in law, Pammy, hosted the baptism lunch - it was all so pretty! She had the tables set with blue and white, and mums as centerpieces.

Lunch was pork tenderloin with twice baked potatoes, biscuits, green beans, and layered salad. It was wonderful!

Henry had one more ride with Coot in "Henry's" golf cart before we left for the beach. Henry LOVES riding in the golf cart! And this was his first time "driving"!

Hope you all have a great weekend! We are heading to a cookout with friends tonight, and I am going out on the town with my girlfriends tomorrow night in Atlanta - my first night away from my boys....wish me luck! :) 

Fall beach trip!

Last week, Henry and I spent 6 glorious days at the beach with my bff Hollie and her son Hampton who is also 4 1/2 months old. We spent the days playing on the beach, swimming in the pool, and taking maja pics of the two babies. For you Instagram users, search #adventuresofhamptonandhenry - their week at the beach was amazing and they're super Insta-popular. :) 

Before we headed to Florida, we spent a few days in Hawkinsville, but more on that next post. Here's my happy baby boy on his 4 month birthday, September 20th.

Our first afternoon at the beach was spent in the pool - Henry played and kicked so hard, I think it wore him out! Angel baby fell over on the sofa and just decided to stay there! 

The babies get up super early, so Hollie and I got to see the sun rise on the balcony most mornings!

Hampton and Henry both loved the amazing beach breeze we had all week! And so did their mommies! They napped on the beach too..it was wonderful!

Hollie had this super cool beach cart and I laid Henry on the towels while I pulled it up one afternoon. He grinned and smiled in the cart the whole way back to the condo! And that little leg hiked over the side was too much! 

Hampton let Henry borrow his shades...Henry LOVED them!

David and Wesley joined us later in the week - and the boys got geared up for the Georgia game!

Henry and Hampton were worried about the Dawgs pulling through....

But were so happy with the WIN!!!!

Our 4 month check up was this week when we got back home. Our Henry is 17.5 lbs and 26" long! He's 90% in weight and 95% in height - we are so proud of our big boy! He still loves milk, formula, and is now eating a little rice cereal. After a few not-so-fun-up-and-down-nights for Henry, he's slept through the night for the past 3 nights in a row. We decided not to swaddle anymore, and I think he loves being free. He's enjoying sleeping on his tummy some, and is great at rolling over! 

Henry loves to smile and laugh, and lights up when he meets a fellow smiler! He loves to stand up too, so we spend a lot of time in the excer-saucer, baby Bjorn, and playing on the floor. He's gotten so good at holding things, and grabs mommy's hair really well! :) His gums are swollen so the pediatrician said to expect a little tooth peeking out soon. 

Henry still loves bathtime...I think he'll love to swim. He really sticks to his 9ish bedtime - things head south pretty quickly around that time! And he'll sleep until anytime between 6 and 7am. 

We walk in the stroller a lot as Henry loves the outside; he is entertained by his play mat; and he loves when David tickles him. His laugh is the sweetest sound! He is "talking" a lot and cooing and has some powerful lungs!

A family wedding in Kentucky

For the longest time, David and I were the only married couple in the family, and now, we've had 4 family weddings this year! Finally!

First, it was my cousin Andrew in May, then cousin Fain in August, brother Brince in August, and now cousin Katie this past weekend.

Katie lives in Kentucky where the wedding would be held on her family's farm. My mama, Henry and I made the trek to KY last Wednesday with a car LOADED with flowers - I would be doing the rehearsal dinner, the bridesmaids' brunch, and ceremony and reception flowers. It was cray busy but so much fun! 

The rehearsal dinner was held at a local country club. I chose flowers and fern in shades of green to fit the rustic look of the venue. 

Guests mingled as the wedding party arrived from practice at the farm.

Henry did great throughout the dinner, but when his bedtime arrived, he was ready. to. go.

Can't get enough of my two boys!

On Saturday morning, we awoke early! It would be a long day for us all, beginning with the bridesmaids' brunch at my great aunt Bren's home.

Abbye, my mom, my aunt Jill, and I all hosted the brunch for Katie and her maids.

The flowers here were a mix of blue hydrangea, pink roses, white lilies and pink alstroemeria.

We had quiche, fruit, green salad, and biscuits - it was de-lish!

Mango sorbet with raspberry puree was for dessert!

The ceremony took place at the family farm - Willow Oaks - on a small hill overlooking the pond. My cousin Gracie was in charge of programs!

The rustic details were so fun! 

The father of the bride built the arbor for the ceremony. I covered it in grapevine, white lilies and white hydrangea. 

Shepherd hooks and flowers lined the aisle filled with hypericum berries, white hydrangea, dusty miller, alstroemeria, hanging amaranth, and yellow roses.

The afternoon was gorgeous! Here's my cousin Catherine, mama, and Gracie overlooking the pond. 

It was a tad bright for Henry during the ceremony so he had a pashmina draped over his head....it was so funny, and I am pretty sure he was not amused. 

When the sun went down, it was a lovely evening, and ended up being kinda chilly!

The photo booth was a hit! All I had to cover Henry was his little GAP hoodie - didn't quite go with his starched linen Feltman, but it was warm. 

He gets lots of attention!

I thought this was so funny...Henry is clearly in a distressed state with the pashmina blocking the rays. :) But he loved time with his daddy and uncles!
