Family Fun

David and I were home for my little bro's football game this past weekend. So, on Friday night, we headed to the football game at Westfield.

But, Asa had a concussion earlier in the season and was sitting this game out.
That's him, #4, heading to the sidelines.

And here he is on the cover of the football program...

and his senior add. So fun to see him grow up!
It's hard to believe this is his last year at WHS!

Although Asa wasn't able to play, we enjoyed the game and were glad the Hornets won!

It was a fun night all being together!

Here's my mom's homage to her last senior! :)

On Saturday, the fam set out for Savannah! We were heading East to celebrate my parent's 30th wedding anniversary. After checking into the hotel along the river, we watched the boats pass by.

We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Vic's on the River!

And then headed to Elton John!!!! He put on an amazing show!!!!!!!
He played everything....Bennie and the Jets, Rocket Man, Levon, Tiny Dancer, That's Why they call it the Blues, Crocodile Rock, Bitch is Back, Candle in the Wind, Sad Song, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, Daniel, and more!
We loved being together to celebrate our awesome parents and the example they have set for us! It was a great weekend with family.

And he even signed autographs for the upfront fans before his encore of Your Song.

Congrats to my parents!

Viva la Mexico

Last week, David and I joined our great friends Colby and Jamie for a spontaneous trip to Mexico!
On Sunday morning, we flew from Atlanta to Cancun, and then took a short ride to the Iberostar Grand Paraiso in Playa del Carmen. It's an all-inclusive, adults only resort - and part of a larger Iberostar hotel group.
We had a blissful week filled with sunshine, great friends, and plenty of cervezas.
Here are a few things we did on our super fun trip:

We were happy to arrive in Cancun!

We totally took the driver up on Coronas...

And then checked into the hotel while standing in this gorgeous lobby...

we strolled around the conservatory...

took in the amazing hotel...

and loved that this was our walk to breakfast, lunch, and dinner every day.

We had a ball eating lunch here overlooking the beautiful blue water...

loved laying under our own huts...

and then enjoying the pool and the swim up bar in the afternoons.

At night, we got ready for dinner in one of the 4 restaurants, and afterward made a stop at the lobby bar...

and even took pictures in the gondola after the Italian dinner.

The mornings were spent poolside before eating lunch and napping on the beach...

and then it was time for dinner again, this time at the dinner buffet...

and the lobby bar afterward to see our favorite bartender, Perfecto. And perfecto he was.

Colby and I enjoyed the spa while the boys golfed...

and we admired the gorgeous courtyard...

as well as the other pretty buildings on the property...

all before enjoying a Modelo on the beach again...

and later, the specialty drinks at the pool bar.

We were intrigued by the Mexican "raccoons"...

and loved the hibachi dinner at the Japanese restaurant.

I watched Colby pose with the local iguana....

and later, watched the boys play volleyball...

and could not miss a sunset at the pool...

before our surf and turf dinner at Tony's....

and dancing at the pool party.

Before going home, I snapped pics of our awesome porch...

and our fun room.

At the airport, we were mezmerized by the duty free shop...

and tickled by the Bubba Gump restaurant in Mexico.

We had an awesome time and HIGHLY recommend the resort!
