Awesome Fourth!!!!

Call me insane, but Tuesday night (10 days after we moved in to our new house) we had 24 people over for dinner. I couldn't have been happier!
David and I got as much done to the house as we could, but weren't too concerned - we were just so pumped to have our friends and family here!
Most of the painting has been completed, but the kitchen floors weren't - no big though. They'll be done next week, but that didn't stop us from having a ball! I'm keeping everyone posted on the new house progress over at Bellissimo and Bella!
Our Gainesville friends, Atlanta friends, and my family was here to celebrate on the eve of our country's 236th birthday. We had grilled tenderloins, grilled pineapple, blackberry crumble for dessert, Colby's green salad, Natasha's fruit, apps from Lauren and Laura, a red velvet cake from Callie, and bread from Meredith. Everyone so sweetly brought something!
The boys manned the grill while we girls chatted inside getting dinner ready.

Lauren's awesome charcuterie platter!

Natasha's amazing fruit! Seriously, how awesome is this?
**Laura made a fabulous spinach dip, but it was eaten so quickly that I didn't have an opportunity to snap a pic!

Ready to eat!

 And later, after dinner....
After dinner, we played such a fun game of musical flip cup!

We woke up on Wednesday morning, excited for the day! Lauren and Ryals, Meghan and Brian, Brince and Laura Lyn, and Abbye and Ashley G. all stayed at Casa Griffin. We spent the morning leisurely having breakfast and drinking coffee before it was dock time.
Lauren's delish yogurt parfaits!

Meghan's tasty blueberry muffins!

I love the Fourth!

Patriotic girls!
After a lunch of burgers and hot dogs and grilled corn on the cob, it was time for a cruise around the lake!

A few friends had to head back to Atlanta, but Abbye and Ash, Brince and LL and David and I got dressed and packed a picnic for the fireworks show!

Our new house is right across the lake from where the fireworks display is done, so we had primo seats! You can see the boats coming in to watch it from the water.

Laura Lyn and Cooper!

A toast to America!

Callie and Brian came over with their friends Heidi, Tyler, Emily and Raleigh to watch the fireworks with us too! After the fireworks show, we all lit sparklers and sang the Star Spangled Banner....so fun!!!

The show was amazing!!!

And as if on cue, after the fireworks were done, the most beautiful yellow full moon rose over the mountains!

Hope you all had a beautiful, lovely 4th as well - spent with family and friends!
God Bless America

I'm still alive

I am still alive, but a little behind on blogging. This is what I have been up to.
Anywho, I still wanted to share our trip to Nashville to visit our awesome friends Kim and Nick and few weeks ago!
They've got a great house outside of Nashville, and we planned a spur of the moment trip to visit them in the Music City. Hollie did a great post on the trip - read the deets here.
Friday night began with a trip to a local winery. It was so pretty and picturesque, and they offer free wine tastings - score!

After vino, we hit Puckett's -  a local place where a great live band was playing!

My and David's sweet suite at Casa Campbell
Saturday was spent by the pool playing games and catching up!

Later, we headed to downtown Nashville for a drink before dinner - I want to come back and explore here again!

Our trip to Nashville with the Hills was so fun, and we can't wait to see the Campbells again soon!

Meanwhile, a few more goings-on:
This is an unrelated picture, but I had to share my Mom and her cute girlfriends at their annual beach trip!

And on another note, we had family pics taken over the weekend. They were originally planned for Mother's  Day, but there was a torrential downpour that kept us from taking them.
The whole fam loaded up and headed to the farm on Sunday afternoon. Overcast and cloudy, it was a pleasant June afternoon with hardly any gnats or heat!
The talented Ashlee Culverhouse took them, and we are so pleased with the sneak peek! click here for a few more!
David (30), me (28), Brince (27), my mom, dad, Abbye (21), and Asa (18)

This is def one of my faves! We were so happy that Laura Lyn joined us for some of the pics too!

Lake Time

My bro Brince and his gf Laura Lyn came to visit this past weekend! Yay!
We spent Friday night around the fire pit and dinner table laughing and catching up! Saturday was spent moving a few things - oh yea, have I told y'all we've bought a new house?!?!
We found a great house over the winter that was too great to pass up. Although we haven't sold our current house, we're optimistic about selling it soon - even though we'll miss it!
While the reno's are going on at the new crib, we're just gearing up for summer over here.
I didn't take many pics this weekend, but here's a few from our lake time on Saturday!
Our Baxter and LL's Cooper had a ball at the bow of the boat!

And then they had to take doggie naps in the shade!

Our hunky captain!

We parked on a beach, and of course Bax made some new friends.

And little Coop explored too!

Brince and Laura Lyn were enjoying the lake, but Coop was a little apprehensive!

Hope you all had a nice weekend too!
To see what's going on at the new house, keep track over at Bellissimo and Bella!
