SSI or bust!

Last Thursday, my college BFFs and I headed to Saint Simons Island for our annual Girl's Weekend. Meredith hosted us in her beautiful home...it was perfect! We all loved eating out on the island, carving pumpkins, drinkin' coffee in our pj's, and dancin' the night away at Ziggy Mahoney's! For more on our weekend, visit Jill's blog - she did a fantastic job of writing about our weekend! I've been looking forward to this weekend for months, and had a ball talking, laughing and catching up with these wonderful women!

Lovely lake weekend

Last Thursday after work, David and I headed south to spend the weekend with his parents, Amanda, and Ben at their place at Lake Blackshear. We spent our time fishing, eating, riding bikes, eating, reading, eating, and laughing. Ben loves to fish and David is always tickled to "fish" with him. Pammy fixed some amazing munch-foods that we grazed on all weekend. And the excitement of Aunt Noel's HGTV debut added to our fun! Saturday night brought David's 10 yr. high school reunion. We met William and Kelsey at William's House and headed to the Holiday Inn Conference Center in Perry where the party was being held. There was a nice group from his class that attended and it was fun to see how much everyone has changed, or not! We hung around and mingled for a few hours, and dipped out when the dancin' and karaoke began....we hadn't practiced anything to sing!
Ben is fascinated!

And a happy little boy!

Ben loves his Day-da!

David's Aunt Noel had her TV debut on Friday night at 8:30pm...she was the agent on My First Place on HGTV! Go Noel!

Wheat Thins snack before dinner...and the HGTV show.

Love this kid!

A proud niece, nephew and sister! The Griffins watching My First Place!

Noel is in the green top - she looked amazing! And she's a fantastic Realtor! The couple she was helping to find their first home, however, appeared a little dorky compared to the fabulous Noel!

Day-da and Amanda got out the bikes, gave the tires some air, and with a little WD-40...we were all riding in no time!

Fierce biker!

Adorable biker!

And they're off!

Surprisingly enough, Baxter decided to chill while we were all being active.

William, Kelsey, David and me at the reunion. David and William are my favorite alumni from the Class of 2000!

The members of the HHS Class of 2000!

Look at that beautiful smile on my favorite boy!

Fall fun...

Today I was feeling festive. David and I bought these adorable wine bottle labels last week at Michael's...so cute! I had to show them off in this post. My purpose for my domestic day was to make some things to take to my friend Courtney's house. She and her husband, Russell, just had their second child, Baby Jack; they also have Miss Lyza who is almost two. As any mother knows, two kids under 2 is hard, and since my friend Suzanne is Jack and Lyza's grandmother, I know this for sure. I decided to make her two Martha Stewart pasta dishes that can be served hot or cold. With all that I made, they'll have enough to last through the weekend too! I didn't want to leave Miss Lyza out, so she gets a surprise too. I included pics and recipes...they both turned out wonderfully!
Pumpkins, spooky vino, candied apples, and fall flowers...

I LOVE these wine bottle labels...compliments of Martha Stewart at Michael's.

If you don't have this gadget in your kitchen, then you should run out to get one immediately. David gave me one in college, and I have used it for everything from smoothies, to homemade pesto (like I showed here), to tomato relish. Its amazing, and is the handiest little size.

I had to include this tip because its just so handy!

Food for the week!

Miss Lyza gets a new Dora cup with floating Dora!

Ta-da! The final product.

Let's Go Dawgs!

We had a great weekend in Athens cheering on the Dawgs, and hanging out with friends. Friday night, we hit Speak Easy for a wonderful dinner. After lunch at Red's on Saturday, Hollie, Wesley and I joined Kate and her precious sister and friend at General's. Nothing like a festive Game Day at General Beauregard just like the college days. David and I headed to Atlanta on Sunday to try to pull the Braves through to no avail. We had fun though!

Yay for Meghan and Brian coming to join us!

An in depth discussion of the day's events...

Heyward took a hit against the wall, and Bobby brought reinforcements.

Beautiful day at Turner Field!

I don't know why, but David and I thought Bobby Cox running all the way to the outfield wall and back was pretty funny.
We tried to pull them through!

A sketchy day...

This is one of the drawings I have for sale at Heery's Too. I love the Arch and its always synonymous with The University of Georgia. I wanted to provide a sketch that was more guy-friendly! The coordinating note cards are also for sale there along with the sorority house drawings and stationary. Happy Tuesday!

Photo Sharing...

check out the post about us on Marianne Brown's photography blog.

She and I met as freshmen at UGA when we pledged ADPi...and I was lucky enough to run into her on the street in Athens a few weeks ago after not seeing her for some time while she was in Colorado. Marianne gave me her business card and I was impressed with her work. I promptly asked her how busy she was because I have been wanting some pictures of David and me, and our little family. She was tickled to be asked to come and shoot us and our "kids"!
